Trying to consolidate debt into one low monthly payment, but my debt is too low or with collection a

I have about $7,000 in debt with credit cards and medical bills that are with collection agencies. I have contacted several debt relief groups, but unfortunately they only work with people who have more than $10,000 in debt or they are unable to work with collection agencies.

I would just deal with the situation you have now and negotiate a payment plan with them . If you try to consolidate you will pay costly loan origination fees that will outweigh the benefits .

Opt for a debt consolidation loan: The easiest method of getting a debt consolidation loan is to utilize the equity of your home. Equity of your home is calculated and determined by the difference in the amount you have paid and the amount you owe. If the amount you have paid is more than the amount due, you can use it as collateral. This allows you to borrow money on lower interest rates. Besides, you also get tax benefit on this type of loan. Consult your tax advisor before opting for this loan.

Can you come up with $1400-$2000? If you can, call each of these agencies and tell them you want a 10% settlement, they will probably high ball you, but keep after them. You could probably get a 20-25% settlement from a collection agency. Medical debt....you could probably get a 10% settlement. FYI...this can be done, I settled a friend%26#039;s outstanding balance of $1600 (Fees) from his auto loan for $25 bucks. Good luck.
