Check out a legitimate credit counseling agency that will get you on track with a debt repayment plan, helping you lower your finance charges and make only ONE payment that they distribute. You will have to cut up your cards because they will close them for you but you don%26#039;t have to worry about being further in credit card debt. Once you are debt free you will have a better shot at getting credit but will find that you neither want nor need it.

Credit counseling can work if you find a legit place. If you go that route, look the credit service up at the Better Business Bureau site (bbb.org). I tried it once %26amp; got burned. If the credit counselors push you into giving them lots of money up front, then it%26#039;s probably a scam. I later got counceling through a Lutheran Church-run credit service. They were very helpful, explained my options and didn%26#039;t pressure me into anything.
