for replacement windows. He doesn%26#039;t have any debts and his credit card is well up to date. (He showed me his experian report and there are no late payments, ccjs or anything negative at all). He isn%26#039;t financially linked with anyone else and has checked that there are no outstanding debts on his house.

Anyone got any suggestions why he can%26#039;t get any credit and what he can do about it?

You did not say what his score is. If there is no score in the file then his best solution since he has no debt on the home is to take out a small first mortgage on the home. Any mortgage banker will do this for you. The file with no derogs in file and BK%26#039;s in file for 2 years can be manually underwritten by any Fannie Mae lender in the nation. Rates are still very good at this point in time. The process could take a couple of weeks to get done but the rate is worth it.

if there are no neg things and things are up to date, then he should be able to find credit somewhere...they he call the credit people he is trying to get credit and ask why he isnt getting the credit ? sometimes those jokers just want you to call and hear your voice

I%26#039;d say that if he%26#039;s having trouble, go right to the source. I%26#039;m not sure if it%26#039;s the same in the UK as in the U.S., but here lenders who deny you credit can be made to give their reasons why if you ask. I%26#039;d have him talk to the people who turned him down to find out why.

Having worked in banking for over 20 years, all I can think of is that there%26#039;s no profit in a loan that small for a bank. I wouldn%26#039;t make the loan either.
