Question about medical debt collections?

We had some lab work sent off to Quest Diagnostics and because of financial difficulties haven%26#039;t been able to pay the bill, now a collection agency is trying to collect. My main concern is that this will adversely affect my credit score if this is reported to the credit agency, is this true? I heard somewhere that medical bills cannot go on your credit record like a credit card or other unsecured debt, does anyone know?

A payment plan will also go on your credit file, but can hurt less than the damage from ongoing large unpaid balances.

work out a payment agreement and see if you can send them small payments until your financial situation is better and you can afford to send them more.

They will work with you if you ask them.

Unfortunately, it does show up on your credit report. But as long as they see you are making an effort, it should not get reported.

They do go on your report YES I have a bunch and it ruined my credit bad for the past 10 years.Send what you can monthly thats all I do to stop them reporting it.
