Problem with debt?

I%26#039;m in a lot of debt (10k on Credit cards, 40k on a home equity loan plus a mortgage, and 17k on an auto..plus 1000 in medical bills).

I have a full time job which pays fine, but I%26#039;m trying to get a second job (applied in a number of areas)..but in the past month McDonalds isn%26#039;t even hiring.

What to do?

Problem with debt?

Check out Primerica Financial Services, A Citi Company. They show families how to get out of debt. While you can consolidate your debt anywhere else, no one is going to show you how to get out of it. The debt analysis is free and if you don%26#039;t like their debt solution, that%26#039;s ok too since there%26#039;s no obligation.

There%26#039;s really no secret to getting out of debt. It%26#039;s all about how you manage your money. When you consolidate, your overall monthly payment is lower and you get a fixed interest rate. For example, lets say you save $200/month by consolidating all your debt into one fixed payment. Most companies will leave you and don%26#039;t care what you do with the saved money. At Primerica, they show you how to utilize that $200 and by showing you how to pay off the debt faster and at the same time, accumulate wealth.

Problem with debt?

Pardon me if I am candid to the part of being blunt. But it is obvious that need a lot of counseling in finance, and budgeting. I hope that you will get it because even if the good fairy would come along and magically pay off all your debts you would be back in the same situation within a few months.

Problem with debt?

Get a credit counsellor.

They can help consolidate your bills so they are manageable.

Then you need to get a budget together and really stick to it.

Most of us are in the same boat. Too many expenses, too little cash flow. At least you own a home though, so there%26#039;s something worth the debt load.

Re: PT job, why not create your own doing something you love rather than a McJob you are going to detest and resent going to?

Blessings,

Renee

Re: other comments. This lady asked a question, did not ask to be judged. She%26#039;s under enough stress. Back off, and don%26#039;t answer a question if you just want to be mean/rude. How do you know what might have put her in this situation? Could have been a serious car accident or illness. I hope if the same happens to you, you%26#039;d have the grace to ask for help and that others don%26#039;t bite your head off for doing so!

Problem with debt?

In addition to finding new ways to make money, consider finding ways to reduce your expenses as well. You%26#039;ve gotten in over your head already with the car, home equity, credit cards, etc. It%26#039;s time to stop spending and start repaying. Yes, a part time job is a good idea but don%26#039;t limit yourself to just that $50-75 a week. You need a plan and a goal to get out of debt. Check out books by Dave Ramsey, talk to a consumer credit agency, watch %26quot;til debt do us part%26quot; on cable, watch the Suze Orman show on MSNBC. You can get out of debt but it starts with a plan and positive attitude.

Problem with debt?

If you are not already, you need to get yourself onto a strict budget and get determined to wack this debt out. The great thing about part time jobs is the turn-over is usually very high, so even if they aren%26#039;t hiring now they probably will be in a week. Just keep applying.

Meanwhile, you can have a Garage Sale. You probably have a bunch of stuff lying around that you no longer use. That will help you make some extra money. Try doing some extra things for people like clean out garages or mowing grass or dog walking. You%26#039;ll be amazed at how many people will pay to have these things done.

If you%26#039;ve never read it, I highly recommend the book %26quot;The Total Money Makeover.%26quot; By Dave Ramsey

I hope that helps you out.
